At this time of national emergency, should the Queen, or a senior member of the Royal Family send a message to the public on television?

This could still be done whilst the film crew, producer etc, kept socially distant.

Personally I'm ok if they never send words of encouragement to the hoi polloi. But my guess is many would think it a nice idea. (Heck, many thought clapping out of a bedroom window at the road outside was a good idea. There's no understanding folk.)
Yes I do.
We have never seen anything like this before.
The enormity of the crisis is only now hitting home.
Why, does she have magic powers ? Will she cure people of the virus. If no , what’s the point ?

bet they will if prince charles does the broadcast ...
And say what exactly? What could the Queen possibly say that will be of any use whatsoever during this pandemic?
OG - That was just one more facet of the manipulation of the great unwashed by the media doing the bidding of the establishment.
Encouragement?

Or perhaps we were just copying what they did in Italy.
Wait, not so hasty. Does she have PPE, or ventilators. .?
no I don't. I think the risk of having new people enter their private space is not a risk worth taking.

There are many who look up to the Queen/Royal Family and would feel that at this time that words of comfort and/or words of encouragement would be appropriate.

It's at times like this that the Queen has the power to unite the country. It's the benefit of never getting involved in politics.
She said she would and is waiting for an appropriate time whenever that will be?
no, need for HM to do a broadcast, it ain't xmas!
No, leave her be to relax and enjoy some time with her husband
she does' every day at noon she's standing in front of Buckingham Palace bellowing through a megaphone. But only 15 people at a time are allowed to listen. Some of them leave small tributes - tins of corgi food, that sort of thing.
"The Queen has the power to unite the country" No, she hasn't, SP. Nothing she can say would alleviate the misery of those 70 or over, confined to barracks, food being delivered and left on their doorsteps, worrying themselves silly and crying themselves to sleep every night.
It's not unreasonable for the Head of State to address the nation at a time of national crisis. Why not?
especially when the head of government has rendered himself inactive.
Yes, it would make me feel much better. deep joy.
