Most of Premier league players can take a pay cut, the Premier League have voted overwhelmingly to do this and Rooney has kicked off!

I don’t know the answer to that Mozz ( sorry)
how do YOU know about footballers? Yes, they earn loads, but people who earn loads 1)pay loads of tax and 2) have commitments commensurate with their income. I earn more now than i did whaen i was 20 but don't have any more left over money - i have a bigger house, bigger bills and bigger commitments
There will be a big loss in Income Tax revenue, apparently if that happens.
Nowt to do with Rooney, really, he doesn't play in the PL. He plays for Derby County in the Championship. And I don't believe he's living in America while plying his trade at Derby.

Is he back here now Ken , I wasn’t sure if he’d taken the managers job there
I agree with him....footballers are a soft target.
Player/coach Bobbs.

Thanks Mozz , didn’t know he and Colleen were back
Yeah, I think he came back in the January transfer window.
Question Author
Still think he and others in the PL are Divas ( haha)
God save Answerbank from such nonsensical question.

I agree with woofgang, footballers are soft.

Why are people so anxious to give away other people’s money? I bet those that do wouldn’t be prepared to give away their own money.

Pretty much everybody I mix with earns over £100k. Pretty much everybody I mix with has a thumping great mortgage, so I just don’t get this eagerness to give other people’s money away.

Would you support a 30% pay cut for all PL footballers, or would you cap it at a certain salary?
Question Author
Probably cap it as its on a scale , am I right in thinking they don’t all earn the same sp?
At what point would you cap it?

What would the salary have to be?
Question Author
I’m in no way a monetary whizzwoman lol I’ll leave that to someone cleverer than I am( sorry )
Bobbisox1

No worries.

:-)

I suspect there will be a lot to rethink over the coming months and years. Things we valued highly might feel less necessary.
