Once again the downside of mass communication rears its ugly head. It gives Duffy the chance for a cathartic opportunity to tell of her ordeal, which I really hope is good for her. Personally, I doubt the wisdom of doing so, because it lays her open to exactly the sort of cynical responses posted on here - people looking to 'reason out' the 'flaws' in her story,...
TBH I’ve never followed her music so didn’t even know she had dropped out for a while.
But if it happened while she was famous then that begs the question was she seen during that time? did anyone report her missing? and can witnesses corroborate her story?
Not that I don’t believer her it’s just that the resources needed to traffic a global super star must be huge. And surely if he were that able then her moving five times won’t stop him!
Did he traffic her just for himself and if so why bother risk taking her out of the country? A secluded country house would have been enough. How could she be held captive in her own house when her management company, hangers on and entourage would be clamouring to get hold of her?
No worse than yours, gulliver. It has taken her some time. As she isn't publicly alleging a particular person, especially, there is no reason or harm in assuming she is telling the truth.
Everyone deals with the horrors of life in their own way, what may seem logical to those looking in seems totally wrong to the person experiencing the pain and recovery.
Gulliver it was a joke aimed at Douglas who has a much better sense of humour than most on here....and I bet a few laughed too. lol!
Pasta: The Duffy story does not make any sense. Kidnap and rape is a very serious charge and even if she had not wanted to take the matter further the CPS certainly would have.
Why do people try to bully others into toeing the line?
Explain to me her bravery in telling the world about her rape and abduction in a tidbit here and a titbit there kind of way and yet not do her utmost to get this animal behind bars before (if he hasn't already)he rapes someone else?
Ummmm: Interesting...So you think someone may have been tried and convicted for this and its been kept a secret? Or someone has been interviewed by the Police but the CPS thought there was not enough evidence to prosecute?
Obviously we don't know the circumstances, but Duffy says this terrible incident happened a decade ago. She hints that the person was known to her. Maybe that and time muddies the evidence?
How did he manage to get her abroad while she was drugged? And back again. Did she have her passport with her in the restaurant she was allegedly* kidnapped from?
*Just saying ‘allegedly’ for possible legal reasons.
