While Bojo might still technically be married (because Marina Wheeler's application for a decree absolute has yet to be granted by the courts) he has a decree nisi, and Carrie Symonds is his fiancee, so to describe Ms Symond's as Boris's 'bit on the side' would seem to be far from appropriate.

No. Her normal residence is the flat in 11 Downing Street that she shares with Bojo. If you're going to criticise her for going to her 'second home', you'll presumably have to criticise the PM for doing so too.

Surely it is better for Boris to be away from Downing Street while he recuperates. He can also be outside more easily. Does the Downing St. flat have a garden? He went to Chequers straight from the hospital. Really why shouldn’t his fiancée be with him after what must have been a very distressing time for her
