//She's not wrong about climate change,...// She's wrong insofar as her criticism should be directed towards those who are exacerbating the problem to the greatest degree. That is China (30% of global emissions) the USA (14%) and India (7%). That's half of all global emissions. The UK is responsible for just over 1%. It could reduce its share to nothing...

//Well nj has listed a whole host of problems she may or may not have, and may be wrong about,..//
The information was provided by her mother.
//I don't agree that she's unwell (Aspergers isn't an illness)…//
I agree. It’s not an illness but a developmental disorder. But you don't have to have an "illness" to be unwell. You could say the same about OCD (the clue is in the name). I know somebody with severe OCD and believe me, she is unwell. Anorexia, from which she undoubtedly still suffers according to her mother, is also described as a "disorder". More than that it is one which leads to all sorts of associated illnesses which she may or may not be suffering from. Most illnesses can be termed a disorder. Kidney failure is a disorder. But sufferers are usually unwell.
//Oh yes, real grown ups insult, belittle, and on occasion threaten that unwell child don't they?//
I don’t believe I did any of that but I’m glad you agree that she is unwell and a child.
//It's worth pointing out, of course, that it's very difficult for most people to be in school right now anyway.//
Indeed it is, Jim. Though lower schools in her native Sweden are, as far as I know, still open. But I don’t know what “lower schools” actually means. But I think you’ll agree that she hasn’t been there for some time and would have been most unlikely to be there now if the situation was normal.
Just for the record, I'm not "foaming at the mouth". Quite honestly I don't care what she does or doesn't do. I just wish world leaders would spend their time more productively than listening to the ramblings of a disturbed teenager.

//...a bit like covid did, (will be over in two weeks, no worse than flu)//
Nobody saw Covid coming to the degree that it has. And even if they had, short of locking down the entire world, there was little that could have been done to prevent its spread. That includes Ms Thunberg who has only just now begun to prattle on about it. Her musings suggest that she believes that the world is not doing anything about it (as she clearly believes is the case with Climate Change) and that everybody is doing their best to leave a legacy for her generation to clear up. She's wrong on both counts. I don't know of any country which is not doing its best to control the disease and if only for purely economic reasons, wants the crisis to end asap. The difficulty is that the world is not as Ms Thunberg believes it should be. And we should all give thanks for that because for all her virtues (which I have yet to discover) she is simply naïve. As incredible as it may seem to her, there are people over the age of seventeen who care about it quite a bit but who are not inclined to become hysterical.
