We're Being Governed By Retarded Fish
I understand, when leading up to elections etc.. there are phrases and lies, constantly pushed in our faces to persuade us to vote. Now, we have a cross party crisis (A pandemic) and we have Gove just spouting what ever he thinks people want to hear, then he contradicts himself.
This government is dangerous, this man is dangerous. Time for a cull, me thinks.

No wonder my daughter, and others like her, are anxious about returning to work. "Yes we can guarantee safety." followed very closely by, "None of us can guarantee safety." Clear as mud.

I feel a bit sorry for the Government because they are walking a bit of a tightrope.
On the one hand they want children to be safe, but on the other they want to start up the economy again.
So the message they come out with is that it is safe to return to school. But the public are not convinced, and commonsense tells them it is too early, while hundreds are still dying everyday.
It does not help that the Government’s handling of coronavirus has been so abysmal so far.
So even back-stabbing ultra loyalist Gove, has stopped believing the words coming out of his own mouth.
The accusation that they are making it up as they go along, was unfortunately demonstrated in Hove’s performance yesterday.

he needs to be swept out of government. We should have a nation wide vote on if he should be a MP or not. Surrey Heath evidently is full of incompetent voters.
He is not competent. He's a liar and can't even unwind his own tongue.

>oh, the kids will be fine as long as they don't get Toyota disease, but they'll be free to catch it, give it to their teachers
So why have we been allowing schools to be open for the last 7 weeks for children of key workers and vulnerable children? If that was okay this is just an extension of that

On another thread, I explained that my daughter had half a lung removed and had just returned to work when this virus hit. The Nursery she works at is only a small building and it would almost be impossible to maintain the 2m isolation distance. What's more, many of her charges have still to be potty-trained and the only protective equipment the nursery possesses is gloves. Hardly a safe environment, especially when you consider the background some of these kids come from. Many of their parents probably couldn't even spell 'social isolation'. Well, given that they've been on benefits for a lifetime, the first word should be a doddle for them.
London and it's surrounding area may be over the peak but certain towns and cities in the North are not. I read yesterday that Hartlepool had double the number of London cases. Perhaps the Government should consider returning to school gradually as each area of the country is over the peak?

the key word is "extension". Each extension increases the risk. There are, as I understand it, sufficiently few key workers' kids to make some sort of isolation manageable. But send two whole years' worth of children back and how greatly does the risk, and the R number, increase? And then a third year...
