We're Being Governed By Retarded Fish
I understand, when leading up to elections etc.. there are phrases and lies, constantly pushed in our faces to persuade us to vote. Now, we have a cross party crisis (A pandemic) and we have Gove just spouting what ever he thinks people want to hear, then he contradicts himself.
This government is dangerous, this man is dangerous. Time for a cull, me thinks.

No wonder my daughter, and others like her, are anxious about returning to work. "Yes we can guarantee safety." followed very closely by, "None of us can guarantee safety." Clear as mud.

TheDevil- nothing is ever perfectly safe- even locking ourselves in our rooms carries risks. All we can do is try to minimise the risks in each situation. Should we ban all children from riding bikes or swimming because of accidents?
Children are playing out with each other now. Teenagers are gathering in groups. Some children are in more danger at home than they would be at school

And? Add garden centres and B&Q to the list . I'm not sure these ever were forced to shut but they are now finding ways of making social distancing work pretty well- limiting numbers, marks on the floor for one way systems and 2m marks, screens between customers and checkout staff, gloves for some staff, no toilets, disinfecting trolleys,
Most other countries are doing it slowly too- some countries are opening restaurants and restarting football, some have opened schools (some never closed them). Are they all wrong to try to get back to some sort of normality in small steps?

It would seem that people who have kept essential service going are expendable to them Spice.
One of my daughters is pregnant and working 'front line' in a care home, another daughter is a doctor and has been helping out in the Midlands hospitals even though she has severe asthma.
The left want the country to go broke jut so they can say "Nasty tories". It realy is unbelievable.

Imagine Ken knocking on someone's door,
'I've come for the £800 I'm owed for painting and decorating last week'
Householder, 'But you didn't turn up'
Ken, 'But I got a dodgy ticker. It might have been dangerous if I'd turned up. I still want 100% of the money I would have earned if I'd bothered to turn up'.

I don't go knocking on doors for my money, spice. I get paid once the client is satisfied that I've done a good job. I don't threaten them or anything, I just stand there with a paintbrush in one hand and an open tin of jet black paint in the other.
My daughter is oh so keen to return to work. She had enough time off with her illness then recuperating from the operation. As I said, she had only just returned to work when C19 descended upon us. There has to be minimal risk, though, before she feels comfortable enough to return. I'm sure many other teachers feel the same - no matter who they vote for in general elections:-/

>Just a very clear message is needed. (OPEN) your business if you can. BUT, limit intake of customers at one time, AND, make sure you police in store distancing.
For once I agree with you, Teacake. But that is in effect what is happening. So why are you objecting to Dunelm and Smyths being open?
If you have evidence though that they have not put such measures in place you could report them to the council or your MP or newspaper or stand outside with a billboard warning potential customers
