... would like to find some excuse for this second breach of lockdown - after he was well and back at work - and when (presumably) the 'childcare' emergency was no longer valid reason?

Mozz - my 'wrong' was to anne.
I was wondering what I'd said wrong DD.
Oh, ok :-)
//Guidelines are not rules.//

Also tell that to the police that have been issuing fines to people. They seem to think rules are being broken.
You're out of date, Deskdiary. This thread is not about the government response to the first accusation.
Deskdiary - // If he's acted within the guidelines, then he's done nothing wrong. //

Absolutely … except that he hasn't acted within the guidelines, which is what the fuss is all about.
I don't think Deskdiary is quite following, Andy.
Despicable person. No morals.
sure the transport guy is feeling Thanks Boris that’s great .I came up with a Baldric idea and now Thats me finished for covering for him .Lets all get outta here .We have made mugs of the medical people too . could Keirn start Monday
Of course Boris isn't going to sack Cummings

Who is going to pull the strings , with Cummings gone
Keir you know who I meant
The Government has said he hasn’t ‘broken’ guidelines.
I am not an apologist either but all that I can see about a second visit is that one unnamed couple are alleging that he was there and one other named person is making the same allegation.
Who pays this man for being adviser to b or is then eh ?
Really, Deskdiary?.... :-))
Deskdiary - // The Government has said he hasn’t ‘broken’ guidelines. //

Governments say a lot of things, and here's something that will apparently surprise you - not everything they say is actually true, or speaks to the heart of the issue involved.
^^^Indeed.

But in this particular instance, the Govt has said he hasn't broken any guidelines.

Yes, really Gness.

I'm not making this siht up - it's on the news.
Deskdiary - // But in this particular instance, the Govt has said he hasn't broken any guidelines. //

The government is trying desperately to dig itself out of a seriously deep hole in which their advisor, through his abject lack of thought, judgement, humility, and ability to see the consequences of his utterly stupid actions, has dropped it.

It's the very very poor best they can do in an increasingly runaway situation.

I suspect they will tough this out, but I think their credibility in terms of advice about avoiding Covid 19 has been holed beneath the waterline.
DD it's the same Government saying the police hadn't spoken to his family about his being in Durham yet the police said they spoke to his father on the 'phone about it.
he's a wee law unto himself, isn't he?
