I don't believe it is true that money is not spent on trying to find other missing children. As soon as fresh evidence or clues come to light they will investigate. That's why they were out in Kos 3 years ago digging up a building site I think it was where Ben's toy car was found. It's ridiculous imo, to think they wouldn't investigate. We do read sometimes of cases from many years ago being checked out and looked at again.

I have never 'rented' a 'cheap joint' of any description.
By the time we were able to afford foreign holidays, our two oldest children were past the 'kids supper' stage, and ate with us in the dining room for all meals.
When they were younger and we holidayed in this country, they always ate with us for all meals wherever we stayed, and that applied to their younger sister from her birth onwards.
We have never availed ourselves of a 'baby listening service' - I clearly remember staying in a Butlins with my parents when they did that - and me shouting myself hoarse at the chalet door as my sister vomited copiously, in between crying for her mum, in the bathroom.
That experience meant that when we had children, they were with us all the time - we preferred it that way.
I have never 'rented' a 'cheap joint' of any description.

I'm with you on this Andy. On holidays our child has gone everywhere we have gone - no kids clubs, no babysitting. And whilst I don't believe the parents were involved in her disappearance, I cannot imagine ever leaving 3 under 4 year olds alone whilst I ate elsewhere either in this country or abroad.
This new action generated eight pages of coverage in the Mail this morning, including, obviously, a front page banner headline.
I have always remained mystified as to why the abduction of this one child has created such sustained media interest, and such sustained police resources in pursuing her return.
Surely every missing child deserves every effort to reunite them with their family - so why does this one case continue to excite the world in the way that it does?

That is actually beyond their ability.
No-one can actually harness the media to their cause, whatever it may be, for such a sustained period of time, and certainly not achieve the level of coverage that the case received in the media today.
The media are in thrall to no-one except their readers, so why are their readers so wrapped up in this one child, tragic though her loss clearly is, as against any number of other children who went missing at that time, and remain unreported, then, or now.
That is actually beyond their ability.

Mrs Muriel McKay (*) was nurdered by the Hoseins. This was whilst I was a student and the pathologist who was giving us the rather gory Forensic Pathology lectures (+) - he used to perform post mortems whilst eating his sandwich lunch - said the Police should have X ray 'd the pigs. Once you see bone or teeth in the x ray you can get an order to slaughter and dissect the whole herd, ( and er find bits of the body)
