Fawlty Towers was 45 years ago, and some of the things mentioned on this thread are even older, but there's much more recent stuff that is in the crosshairs of these idiots. Gavin and Stacey has been cited as being racist, sexist and fatist (no, me neither), Ant & Dec have stupidly made an apology for the perfectly innocent things that they did...and so it appears it will go on (although good on Harry Enfield for refusing to do so).
I think Last of the Summer Wine will be safe - but as that was so achingly unfunny anyway, who cares.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

I have family in Warrington and my cousin has just texted me to say that the Oliver Cromwell statue, which is a sight to behold, is being considered for removal as a petition is doing the rounds to get rid of it. It's an amazing statue and I share her utter disbelief and annoyance. She is going to complain to the Council, but somehow I think it's a done deal. Have we lost the plot??
