I notice there's nothing about this as yet. I guess ABers only really care about negative stories about Harry and Meghan.

They've paid back their debt to the taxpayer. Good. It's the right thing to do, although it won't stop the whiners whining about them as I'm sure they're well aware. Now, which of the other royals will be next to cough up I wonder.

//Mozz, No you don't - so you're becoming creative.//

No, and neither do you, so you're creating scenarios that fit your negative opinion of the Sussexes.
Mozz, I haven't created any scenario - and certainly not one that suggests the queen has insisted they retain their titles as her way of keeping lines of communication open and showing them they are still part of the family. Do get a grip, Mozz. I know others criticising them upsets you but that's going more than a step too far.
I thought they were lined up as producers not presenters.
We’ve all seen the lists of executive producers in credits of tv shows. Basically just a way to get a further pay cheque.

I can’t see any difference whether they’re referred to as plain old Harry and Meghan - as British newspapers are doing now, HRH Duke of Sussex or the duchess or whatever. There’s still the royal connection.
He could become a 'squiggle' like t'other Prince did.
Cloverjo, I'd be interested to know what Netflix thinks qualifies them as 'producers' - ?
Every career change starts with a single step.
Not with multi-million dollar media jobs it doesn't!

For eight figures they not unreasonably expect you to know what you are doing, not rocking up with a big smile and a good pedigree.

So would I.

As usual Naomi, you seek to hammer home your point by trying to belittle any cotrary opinions. I'll say it again slowly so it gets in this time: we don't know what has gone on between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family. I made up a scenario, albeit an unlikely one, where everyone is happy with things as they are. I did not say that it was correct, just that your belief that they are holding on to their titles with all their might may not be either. As for my being upset by criticism against them, I honestly don't give two hoots about them or any other member of the Royal Family. What annoys me is small minded people such as yourself, demonizing anybody without good reason.

Perhaps the fact that they seem to have plans to produce some shows?
Mozz, it doesn't work like that.

A producer is a producer because he or she has contacts - the people you need to make television, like writers, directors, cameramen, carpenters, lighting crews and so on.

You don't turn up on Monday morning in a baseball cap with 'Producer' written on it.

You turn up with your team which you have chosen, and start solving the dozens of problems that start at 9.01 a.m.

Harry and Megs?

What do you think?
I think somebody who often complains about not having their proper name used on Answerbank would be more courteous when referring to others.

That's what I think.
You predicted how this tread would go in your first sentence of the OP Mozz - get with it and listen to the experts.

You may keel over with chronic depression or boredom or both but hey - you listened.
* thread
Many movie producers are "silent-producers" in that they supply the money for the production. Obviously, there are producer/directors who not only provide the money but also take an active role in the actual physical aspects of making the movie. I would think that the Sussexes fit into the former definition as they seem to have the money.
In fact they are probably rich enough to show up wearing rather expensive base-ball hats emblazoned with the word "PRODUCER".

Wouldn't a fairly successful American television actor have those contacts, or be able to make them via third parties?

You're right of course, others know best, and won't be told differently. I'll just sit here, hugging my knees and gently rocking until somebody tells me how wrong I am. ;-)
Mozz71, are you really taking seriously the resident ah's farcical statement that a producer knows "cameramen, carpenters, lighting crews and so on"?
That's the ticket Mozz ;-)

Not really,go for it.
