Seems Johnson Still Has His Fingfers In His Ears
50 Answers
Hitting back at critics who say he has both lost control of the coronavirus pandemic in Britain and struggled since suffering from COVID-19, Johnson said suggestions he had lost his “mojo” was “self-evident drivel”.
“The kind of seditious propaganda that you’d expect from people who don’t want this government to succeed, who wanted to stop us delivering Brexit and all our other manifesto pledges,” he said
No Johnson, it is not propaganda, you have led the country to disaster and keep disappearing when the chips are down. The comments are not just from people who dont want the Government to succeed, indeed for many like me it is the opposite. We see you failing and want someone who will deliver like a Tory in the PM seat.

literally dozens of governments have done more and better. Even after eight months, Britain has slid down the deaths-per-million league only as far as 12th. In Europe, only Belgium and Spain and a couple of microstates have done worse.

You have seen before with your Prime Ministers Thatcher and Blair that a large majority often translates into arrogant, unlistening Governments.
Johnson has surrounded himself with cronies and confidants, instead of knowledge and experience.
The result is they make a lot of mistakes, and have to keep changing policy on the hoof (U-turns).

Comparisons between countries are pointless. As I have said before if we do want to get to the bottom of this then it will take a couple of years Analysis to understand how countries tallied and also understand the difference between 'with Covid', 'of Covid' and 'because of Covid'.
I'm not sure, given this is clearly not a killer virus if that has any value any more. However it could be part of understanding how we ready ourselves for when one does come along.

I think some people might be misunderstanding my mottives.
I think Johnson should step aside now because he has done the job we put him there to do - Brexit - and now it is time to build the country and keep labour out for a decade.
Most people are good for their time. Churchill shone in the war, Thatcher dealt with the unions, Boris delivered the will of the people. All have hung on instead of moving aside and gracefully handing the reigns to a plodder to get us through.

Jno: 'But can you be specific about how it makes Britain look worse than other countries?'
I can't be specific because that would take some detailed research which i don't have the time for.
One important point tho......I never said it made Britain look worse but I'm sure the countries would be in a slightly different order if all countries reported with the same criteria for recording Covid deaths.

"Don’t know about the rest of you, but I find it good to see some of the snarlers turning on each other. Perhaps they’ll end up on an Immoderator’s Little List?"
I'm sorry but I dont quite understand that post. Apart from that the thread has had some good arguments put from all. No one is turning on anyone as far as I can see. From any side.
I know you will find it difficult to believe but most people on the right are comfortable cruising their Party of choice if they think it will move the Party forward in the long term. Unlike some labour voters who would vote for a donkey if it had a red rosette on it.

ZM, jim, yes I do get your points but in the event of no deal there will be very little 'negotiating' which given the failure of negotiations over the past years is a good thing.
Of course I'd like a deal, only a fool would not. But I dont think a deal can be reached given the current climate. We cannot climb down on the fish, why should we and we certainly cannot accept being ruled by a foreign power (the ECJ). The EU for their part want it to hurt to prevent others leaving, why wouldn't they?
So that is why I think a no deal is best. In reality business will be driven by business people in the EU and the UK regardless of the politicians. We wont stop trading it's simply how it is taxed for the most part.
Once we have untangles ourselves then we can negotiate if the EU would like to and build on new ground rather than try to rehash old ground.
