Because Scotland, like the rest of the UK, is no longer a member and would have to apply to rejoin.

So in his Europe, he doesn't care about getting approval from Scotland...you will be insignificant.
If Scotland wants true independence it should not rejoin the EU even if allowed.
Wanting to leave the UK to join the EU does smack of anti-English sentiment.

it does seem counter productive to leave the UK then get to rejoin the EU.
surely that's even more under the thumb than they are currently.
and i don't think they are under the thumb here, not for a long while
not only that, if they were remotely allowed to join the club that is the EU, what currency do they have, because it sure as hell won't be the Euro.

If it breaks away from the union and then (maybe) flounders around like a lonely friendless obese turtle with a bleak future, then perhaps in time they will learn their mistakes and rejoin.

Much like Brexit I suppose.
