okay, I wasn't sure if you were including Scotland or not. But my response remains the same: almost every other country is doing better than the UK, either in protecting its economy or protecting its citizens - or both. Why are UK politicians so bad at both tasks when other countries' aren't?

12:28 people were going to celebrate Christmas whether or not, at least the majority were. I spoke to many people who I met when out with my dog and to a man they all said that they were seeing family at Christmas no matter what Johnson spouts. Boris knew this and he had no option really.

I don't know where you live Margie, but we live in one of the areas that has been relatively safe since March and we meet people who are all saying they are still going to continue to stay safe over Christmas and have a family celebration when things are better. Different mindset perhaps?
