The fat lady has just appeared on the stage. Not the beginning of the end,but the end of the beginning. Many people have many doubt and that I understand, the anti vaccination group i understand less if at all. Have your jabs but keep to government recommendations and we will be back to normal by June.

If you want your BP to go up, Chill have a look at sandyRoe's thread in CB about attracting us to the high streets. Went off topic as often happens but it does surprise me what folk still think about Covid and the vaccine....I despair. :-(
emmie, yes, but diddlydo got a kicking for suggesting that the timetable was unclear. But she was correct.

LOL, my BP is fine thanks gness(thank you for your earlier post btw) so I’ll abstain from reading the thread.

Anyone who doesn’t take the vaccine is quite frankly a moron.
EVERYONE in the UK has had a vaccine of some kind at some point in their lives.
Did it kill them? Did they mutate into some three-eyed specimen?
The cynical, sceptical f£&@wits who decry the vaccine and deny Covid exists need to come and work in a hospital for 48 hours.
If you don’t want it, don’t have it but but DO NOT expect the NHS to rescue you because if your own idiocy.
Sadly there’s no vaccine for that.......
Yes, this is a good and promising thing. But what bothers me is how quickly it's come about...I worry that the testing process...normally 3 stages I seem to recall...has been too short. I read a few articles a month or so, ago that described the usual time frame and it was about 2 years to develop and test a vaccine.
Probably best, Chill....I had to eat a packet of beetroot and sit in the garden doing deep breathing exercises to get my BP back to normal...... :-)

Advances in medical science have brought this about. I gave an answer on this recently, whereby a professor on Question Time explained how and why we are now able to develop vaccines so quickly.
What I would ask is: why would you NOT take it?
Do you want to continue playing Russian roulette every time you enter a supermarket or pub?
Or do you want to wear a mask and remain socially distanced for the rest of your life?
Hope there's no panic buying.
Pasta :

Have you read how every stage of the development of this vaccine has been expedited? Have you read the reasons why other vaccines took so long?
Oxford didn't begin developing in March. They were already planning and working on a Coronavirus vaccine. It just needed tweaking and of course funding. Money suddenly became no object and the path through testing and licensing has also been smoother than in years gone by when urgency wasn't a factor.
We read an interesting article the other day because we were asking much the same question as you. We have a personal interest in the Oxford vaccine team and follow it closely in news and otherwise.

A long but fascinating article.
as far as I understand, this vaccine will not be suitable for everyone, so I hope the NHS will still treat those people Chill :)
Great news, alas some people are wary of anything ‘ new’ . I’d say next summer before the vaccination programme is complete.

I daresay they and other pharmaceutical companies are looking at that and improving every day.......but in the meantime, let’s continue with the doubt, negativity and general doom and gloom eh because we haven’t had enough this year, have we?
i know the feeling jno
Did I say I wouldnt take it?
I'm doing what any sensible person does...ask questions/ voice misgivings based on the information I've taken on board *so far*.
I didn't know that would be frowned upon.

Ok, I’ll give you a tip:
Get off the Internet/AB for the next hour and watch every single news channel you possibly can but especially the BBC.
You’ll be informed, enlightened and ready to make an informed decision.
If you’re still sceptical after that, then I’ve really no idea what to say to you.......

I am all for the vaccination... but you have to admit that you certainly haven't reassured people who have read your previous posts...
^ I agree. Normally when people post on AB that they are nervous or have concerns about something then they are met with plenty of support and reassurance sympathetically given - not being told they are morons, idiots or go and do some research.
I am not all for the vaccination and think chilldoubt's posts are disgusting. He won't be advising me what to do that's for sure and there is no way I will be watching the news or reading the news or having anything to do with the news, because I am sick to death of the news !! I haven't made up my mind yet whether I will have it or not and I know plenty who don't want it, I personally want to wait and see yet as I think this is too early. My prerogative, and I won't be swayed by the ones on here who seem to think it is a mortal sin and think they have the right to call you allsorts if you dare to question it - bullies !!
Let's stop a moment and consider what Chill and his colleagues have been through since March before we start, Pixie and Prudie.
I've experienced one Covid death from a distance. That was bad enough.
To go into work each day to deal with death after death after death is unimaginable for those of us lucky enough not to have to be facing it.

No surprise there then, Burly.
