Nicola Sturgeon has pledged to rejoin the EU as soon as possible after claiming Scotland had been taken out of the bloc against its will because of Brexit & is writing letters to various European newspapers saying so.
Are you Scottish, if so does she speak for you? Would you like to be separated from the rest of the UK & be a part of the EU instead?

if Scotland do leave the UK I can't see them getting into the EUSSR anyway. Spain and France would veto it for a start. Even if they did get in can you imagine the terms? They'd have to adopt the Euro and build a border for a start.

National target dates for adoption of the euro

"The Treaty does not specify a particular timetable for joining the euro area, but leaves it to Member States to develop their own strategies for meeting the condition for euro adoption. Seven of the 13 Member States who joined the EU since 2004 have already joined the euro area, most recently Lithuania on 1 January 2015."

States need to agree to adopt the Euro but as there is no deadline for doing so, that is not a huge issue.

What are the border controls between Ulster and the ROI? The same arrangement could apply to Scotland.

You're pushing your luck again, Tora.
One might think one is asking a new question but one is mistaken.
This has been asked and answered many times suggesting one's not getting the answers one wants.
Stop calling it Ulster Corby ;-)

There is no border thankfully.
In the short to medium term there’s no prospect of that happening.
Longer term who knows.
I would still put my money on the Scots rejecting independence.
Why not give them an early referendum and settle the matter once and for all.
Their position is ludicrous. But let them do it. They'll be in a terrible state within a year. In any case, you can't be independent and within the EU. And, yes, Spain and others are bound to veto their joining the EU on their own. And why does the SNP think people will vote any differently than they did in the independence vote last time?

North Ireland is in an odd position, still part of the UK but also in single market, with the notional border with the rest of the UK in the Irish Sea.
Could Scotland survive without the support of either the UK or the EU?

Northern Ireland!
Jackdaw: They've already had an independence vote to settle the matter. All the SNP wants to do is have a vote every five minutes until they get the result they desire.
they had "once in a generation" vote in 2014! Not sure how long a "generation" is in Scotland but I reckon it's longer than that!
As I've said before, when the referendum was held, the UK was in the EU and there had been no vote to leave the EU.

Would you agree there has been a major change since the the first vote?
// I reckon it's longer than that! //

in Coatbridge a generation is about 13-14 years. so another referendum in 2027.
there has been a change to the UK.
Exactly!
Corby, what about my post at 12.19?
That's only at the posh end of town, mushroom, more like 10 years in the schemes. :-P
