Another thing to be borne in mind is that when Charles eventually becomes King, Harry's children will automatically become HRH as grandchildren of the monarch through the male line. Charles could prevent this but it would be seen by many as an act of sheer spite.

Harry married an actress, Zara married a rugby player.

Neither of them chose to be born into royalty!

To me, they both seem to want to lead similar lives ... but Harry gets it in the neck, while Zara is left to get on with it. So why is that?

I must say I don't really understand why people have such strong feelings about harry and meghan... how has harry "let the country down"? I like the monarchy and enjoy the ceremony but we have to be honest with ourselves it really isn't that important anymore in the greater scheme of things.

Surely it is all just a technicality if you read the Queen's letter. It was their decision to step away from the royal life, so there would be protocol to follow. As for all the 'royal correspondents' being interviewed on BBC I could have done the exact same job as they know nothing more than the rest of us but are trying to justify their existence when there is no real story. I say good luck to the pair of them - and I'd love to see her back in another series of Suits.
