Due to the current crisis, I presume EU will want to keep the Pfizer jabs for themselves so we may have a glut of Astra Zeneca. My first jab was a Pfizer. Would it be safe to have the AZ as a second jab? Wonder if I will get it in April........

Thanks all, second jab due in April so fingers crossed.
i am due to speak to one of the GP;s tomorrow morning, he may know or tell me what to do.
emmie I am guessing the GP will say "have patience" The end of April is six weeks away!
i know, i have to phone him anyway, so might as well ask.
I’m the only person in our family/friends circle who was given their second appointment when I turned up for my first jab. Mine was Pfizer, done at a hospital.
Everyone else, Pfizer and Oxford, is being patient and waiting to hear, as instructed.
I don't think there are any instructions to be patient and wait. Everyone is free to use the NHS booking system, I believe.
Ok Zac, forget patient, but were defo told to wait to hear about the second jab.
I think that was when they didn't know how fast the programme would go, Vagus. Rather than sit worrying, I'd book.
ZM. It was said yesterday that all appointments would go ahead, but it wasn't made clear about 2nd jabs, where no appointments were made in many cases, would go ahead. Many were querying this. On the news today it was confirmed they would.
Other half is going to give it a go and see what happens.
Oh, right. I thought everyone who had a first jab were told when their second would be, but clearly not.
Ours are on 17 April, at our surgery again.
No, as Woof said many of the GP led schemes are contacting people via the same route as they did for the first jab.

So in my case I shall get a text to book when it's time.
no, I had mine done with the local (rather than national) service. They did not tell me about the second dose.
I'm glad we were told. I would have been worrying too if we hadn't been. Let's just hope all goes as planned!

My GP rang me for my first one and I assume they will ring me for my second one due at the end of April.
We were given both dates by telephone from the surgery, at the same time.
I was given both dates together as well
Do you not get one of those little blue cards when you go 'local' then?
Mind you, if they change my second one to the A-Z, I won't be taking it !
