There has been no politics for the past year so I cannot see much changing.
There will be no shocks either way. It will be a huge non event. Everyone will claim it as good for their party precisely because buggerall will have changed.
Against the usual run of things; I don't think they'll make much progress. Probably much of the status quo. I don't say that I agree with this- I would like to see a stronger opposition to the power-craze that seems to appertain at the moment.
I was looking at the London mayoral candidates. Sadiq Khan, politically if not physically, is head and shoulders above the others and will win easily. Didn’t the Tories try to deselect their man at one point?
You have to hand it to UKIP: a candidate called Peter Gammons. You could not make it up (tho maybe someone is?)
Outside London Labour will struggle. This is not their time, especially with everyone getting their Boris vaccine.
sadiq khan is a waste of space, but London has a sizeable asian population who will likely vote him back in. I never know what to make of the man. Not only that Shaun Bailey isn't credible, he's not been so visible as Khan.
I like Sadiq Khan a lot. I know he has his critics. It would be odd if he did not, and knife crime has been his Achilles heel, but he’s a high profile sensible, moderate politician of the sort Labour desperately needs back in Parliament once London has been and gone.
