How important is it?
I live in England and I don’t see how devolution with any of the 2 nations will make any great impact on my life (I appreciate NI is a different situation).
IMO very. A nation sized island, or group of them, should be the same nation. Just common sense not to split them and be weakened as a result. All should get on board with the common sense union though, not have one region rail against another and demand better treatment or they'll try screwing things up.
Old Geezer: Agreed. But I can't really understand why we need to keep Scotland as part of our union. There are only six million of them, less than London's population. The endless whinging gets on my nerves. Go and be independent and have a nice day you Scots.
Think you missed the point. I'm not saying that we're paying for the Scots. Simply said if they want to be independent it's fine with me. Or is it that you can't lift the chip from your shoulder and it's causing you pain?
If Scotland wants to be independent that's great, though being independent within the EU and with the Pound is nonsense. Just trying to say that I can't see any great principle by which we should attempt to ensure it stays within the Union.
@19.54.By voting for the no-confidence vote against the Labour government of the day.The "Tartan Tories" sided with Thatcher and brought down the Callaghan government.
ynnafymmi:"Thanks for that,Paign..Just you keep on paying those taxes that enable us Jocks to live the lifestyle we enjoy thanks to you English mugs.Thanks. " - so can I assume you are not a supporter of "independence" ?
