Free everything, 4% rise for NHS staff, double child benefit, an interim monkey to families. It's like a magic money orchard up there!

Scotland only has one destiny. It isn't a viably economic entity so will always rely on subsidies (English or EU) unless they learn to live without all the freebies.

Regarding Scotland suckling at the teat of the EU rather than Mother England:
The Scottish Government have estimated an inherited deficit in 2021-22 of 5.9% of GDP. The EU's Maastricht criteria (SGP) requires 3% to be acheived. There is zero indication of what policies / spending measures or cuts from Ms Sturgeon. Instead she's going the other way and promising 'Jam Tomorrow'. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of the Scottish populace are blissfully unaware of this.

It isn't that they don't have time for Scotland or the Scots, maggie. It's just that they (predominantly the English) are sick of being castigated and denigrated by Ms Sturgeon and her supporters. Like it or not Scotland is dependent on England to live the lifestyle it does. It is granted, via the Barnett Formula, enormous amounts of extra money to lavish on schemes which the English do not enjoy. The Scottish government is not able to do this "because it is prudent". It is able to do so because it has excess funding lavished upon it. If the Scots decide to go their own way then good luck to them but until they do they might just lay off casting the UK government as the villain of the piece and the cause of all its ills.
The UK currently has a debt of about two trillion pounds (that's 2,000 billion). Scotland has about 8% of the UK's population so its share of that debt is at least £160 billion. Before they are allowed an official referendum on independence they should show where and how they will raise that sum to pay to the UK government before their departure.

I have never said I was a SNP, what I want is the best for the Scottish people. I see no other political party in Scotland puting Scotland first. I have no intention in posting on a racist post as this. I’m just astounded where alll you people got your political knowledge about Scotland from. Sadly your hatred of a country and it’s people shines bright on AB , almost on a daily basis and is always tolerated. Carry on folks. Have a nice day .
// Why not implement it now? //
if there was a referendum on Sunday, and the result was a resounding "yes" and a decision to separate was taken today, implementation would take years, if not decades.

was written not by some seagull firm of consultants but by ASLEF, the train driver's union that has existed in this one industry for 140 years and 10% of whose membership live in Scotland. it was written for the last referendum, but its points are just as valid. it's not just a case of dividing the industry, decisions need to be made on what is (contrary to popular belief) an important part of Scottish trade infrastructure.

Before I joined this site I had not a single negative thought about Scotland nor its people, it's only because pretty much all the Scottish ABers that I'm aware of (bar one or two maybe) have repeatedly shown themselves to be English, Westminster and Monarchy haters and bashers. And now you've made us aware of how you feel about us we are the racist ones for slowly feeling the same?
I had no intention on posting again but, I have a Q for prudie. Some time ago you stated that I had said * I hate the english* on a thread. I asked you to show me the thread, alas you said you had no time to Wade through th threads. I wondered if you have since had time. You were not the only one to accuse of this , I think it was Tilly?
