I agree with bhg481, I also voted Conservative despite Boris, not because of him.
I think it does matter that he’s a proven liar: Someone who lies in their private life are just as likely to lie in their public life too.
As far as I’m concerned, voting Conservative was voting for the best of a bad bunch.
I’ve never voted Labour and never will, but the current Conservatives are just weak, self serving wimps afraid to be seen as being too tough and upsetting the whingers who complain that they are being treated unfairly.
Although, granted, he’s an improvement on his predecessor!

Whenever I criticise Boris for being useless – his supporters on this site ask whether I would rather have some other equally useless person (or possibly a more useless person) running the country.

The answer is that I’d rather have a person of honesty and integrity running the country – I know that is asking for a lot, given our political leaders.

Given the recent revelations from his mistress – should it be shown that Boris lied in the original investigation as to his sexual relation with her (and the £126k of public money he gave her), I would expect a person of honesty and integrity to resign from public office (but then, I’m expecting pigs to fly).
