I presume we're allowed to talk about it as it's all live-streamed on US tv.

ZM a psychopath and a racist. Haha I have seen it all now. ZM and I have had many run-ins but let me assure you Untitled (or should it be unhinged looking at the rantings on this post) ZM has never displayed the traits of a psychopath nor has he ever displayed and signs of being a racist. I think an apology is in order for this one.

His death wasn't caused by asphyxiation though- it didn't need to be on his neck, the fact is, they had someone struggling to breathe- and telling them, but continued with "restraint" and not allowing paramedics near. He had to be told to get off him?
Shoota, thanks for your reply. Are you saying the knee where ever it was on flows back , had no impact on his death. ( don’t worry I’m not looking for a wee battle ) . I value your opinion over many on AB . Although I keep in mind of your past profession .
Pixie, why are you thanking shoota? Have you read his posts?

AH, A man is deliberately dragged behind a car at speed for over a mile and that compares to the Floyd case? Perhaps you’d like to reconsider that?
I'm thanking shoota, because I have read his posts.
Yes, a man is deliberately held to the ground for 9 minutes and 29 seconds, saying 27 times he couldn't breathe. Do you have a point?
There is NO comparison at all to P.C. Harper's death and that of Floyd's. P.C. Harper was by all accounts a lovely and hard working young man, a credit to his family. Floyd was a thug who did despicable things and a druggie to boot and yet more fuss is being made over this thug's death than that of a lovely, innocent young man. The mind boggles !!! I hope and pray Chauvin is acquitted, but I fear he will not live a normal, safe life even if he is.
Floyd was 6'6" (some say 6'4") and 230lbs, high on drugs and had been struggling. Chauvin 5'9 or 10" and 140lbs.
'Suspects who don't wish to be arrested will lie about medical conditions and complaints and will be quiescent until you relax and lower your guard before kicking off again. I have a dodgy knee because I fell for that one...
The link I posted earlier is a bit long but is very pertinent and explains much. Lots can be skipped through: https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/04/chauvin-trial-day-7-wrap-up-a-horrible-day-for-the-prosecution/?fbclid=IwAR3NCo-H44Q6TU3wPIDCtBwQywWJv6pGrA20EjFaeil51nSvZdphx5VqB98
Shirley, believe it or not... People don't get longer sentences depending on how "nice" somebody is. Or even how legal. It is nobody's decision to make, except the courts, on whether someone deserves to be executed or not.
You are also missing the point- that that conversation was about "intention".
KHANDRO-
"I don't have an opinion, all I have stated are facts."

"The largest police officer on the scene was Chauvin, coming in at 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds."

Do you have the weights of the other officers?

One of the witnesses estimated the equipment Chauvin carried weighed up to 40lb so that's nearly three stone to add on.

//Do you have a point? //

Yes, Pixie, I do. Shoota isn't saying what you're saying ... and yet you thank him. Curious.
Shoota, according to the law, that makes no difference though. I looked it up due to a reference of pp about "eggshell skull" or something... which actually says, that a person being more vulnerable or ill, is no defence in what happens to them.
Unlike you, naomi, I don't only appreciate people who agree with me- but anyone who helps or responds.
TCL, what difference does weight make, when you have a helpless, unbreathing person on the ground? Wouldn't ten minutes be enough to show you there was a problem, if you actually cared?
:o)
It doesn't affect the law Pix but it affects Police procedure, someone who is/has been violent should be continuously restrained to some level until in a secure van or Police station.
Whatever pixie. The fact is I don't care about Floyd, I care about Chauvin and like I said, I hope he gets off.
Thank you x but- not allowing paramedics to approach... isn't that going to be a problem?
I don't like either, Shirley. In my view, both off the public streets would be a win.
Waiting for the ambulance to arrive, time telescopes...
As I wrote on another thread, it is important to know the nature of Mr Floyd's contributions to society in assessing his removal from existence on our planet:
George Floyd moved to Minneapolis in 2014 after being released from prison in Houston, Texas following an arrest for aggravated robbery
On May 25, 2020, Floyd was arrested for passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a grocery store in Minneapolis
He was under the influence of fentanyl and methamphetamine at the time of arrest
Floyd has more than a decade-old criminal history at the time of the arrest and went to jail for at least 5 times
George Floyd was the ringleader of a violent home invasion
He plead guilty to entering a woman’s home, pointing a gun at her stomach and searching the home for drugs and money, according to court records
Floyd was sentenced to 10 months in state jail for possession of cocaine in a December 2005 arrest
He had previously been sentenced to eight months for the same offense, stemming from an October 2002 arrest
Floyd was arrested in 2002 for criminal trespassing and served 30 days in jail.
