Could it possibly be our TROB approach to crime and non-punishment? Surely the savage should not have been out on the streets in the first place. Blaming the security services is like blaming the sheep dog for not rounding up all the sheep after you let them out.

AH, if he killed because he was a psychopath you must concede that an awful lot of psychopaths adhere to Islam. Furthermore, Islam cannot be compared to any other religion and until apologists acknowledge that, the world is fighting this appalling philosophy with one hand tied behind its back. People like you do no one except Islamic extremists any favours...

naomi - // AH, at least you now concede that these people consider themselves to be observing their faith literally rather than it’s nothing to do with Islam. Well done. //
First of all, please don't patronise me, I am not a pupil in your class.
Second of all, I have never said that FGM is 'nothing to do with Islam'.
What I have said is that it is perverse and extreme interpretations of religious writings, in the same way that many faiths have adherents who carry what they see as their correct understanding of their teachings to extremes, resulting in abhorrent behaviour.
I do not beleive that FGM is part of the teachings of Islam in the way it is accepted by millions of followers all around the world, any more than 'If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out ...' is seen as a literal instruction by any Christian with normal intelligence and not suffering from psychotic delusions.
The teachings are there in both faiths - written nd passed down.
Only the interpretation varies - depending on the mindset of the individual to twist them to justify abhorent behaviour, or not.

naomi - // Ps. FGM is included in the teachings of Islam. //
Will there ever come a time when you don't assume that you know something, and I obviously don't, because you have 'studied' it?
Doubtful, but I live in hope.
If you could can the patronising attitude, we may be able to move forward with a reasonable exchange of views.

I don’t ‘assume’ I know that. I do know it. If you feel that my dimple and factual response to your declaration that you don’t believe FGM is part of Islamic teaching is patronising, that isn’t my problem. Since you sing the same tune so often I can only suggest you examine your own inferiority complex.
naomi - // I don’t ‘assume’ I know that. I do know it. //
You missed my point.
My criticism is not that you know something - I cannot argue that because I can't know what you do or do not know - my point is your lofty assumption that I obviously do not know. I find that patronising, I have pointed it out inumerable times, but you persist in using it as your basic position.

I don't - please see the paragraph above.

I don't have one - obviously!!
However, you clearly and demonstrably do have a large and serious superiority complex, perhaps it is you who needs to do some 'adressing'.

Naomi - // There was no assumption - lofty or otherwise - that you didn’t know. You SAID you didn’t believe it. //
What i said was - and I quote -
"I do not beleive that FGM is part of the teachings of Islam in the way it is accepted by millions of followers all around the world, any more than 'If thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out ...' is seen as a literal instruction by any Christian with normal intelligence and not suffering from psychotic delusions. The only way you can interpret that is me saying i do not believe it is the teaching of Islam is with selective editing - taking the first thirteen words, and deleting the rest.
That's not the way to debate - at least not if you are going to be reasonable, and expect to be taken seriously.

naomi - // You’d still be wrong. A few years ago, despite it being outlawed in Egypt - a fairly modern country as far as Islam goes - at least 70% of females had been
subjected to FGM. //
Speaking of 'being wrong' - are you going to do what you always do when pointed out being in error - simply carry on as though nothing has been said?
