It really is a big fuss about nothing, in my most humble opinion. The photograph was bought by a previous crop of students and hung in 2013. It could just as easily have been a photograph of a highland stag or the New York skyline. Surely those students who use this room are entitled to have a say on what they would like hanging on their walls.

And we all know it's true, we don't appreciate our youth when we have it, which is part of its appeal, and we all blush to look back at the silly notions we so passionately thought were ours first and ours alone.

Good grief, some students put a poster up in 2013 of the Queen in their Common Room. Now, the students who use the Common Room, want to take down the poster and change it.....like you do......

Its not an official genuine portrait, not commissioned by the Uni, but something bought from a shop less than 10 years ago.

Some people need to get a grip on reality. Students take down and put up all sorts of posters in THEIR private spaces.
