This reminded me of something I read recently on facebook: "My friend suffered some idiot on the bus in Blackpool the week after the Brexit referendum. My mate's of Bangladeshi heritage. His parents came over in the 60's and he was born here. This guy told him:"You'll have to *** off home now pal." No more sponging here." He replied: " I'm on my way home to Bispham...

I can’t think of a racist comment from any source that would offend me. I’m white English and impervious to any derogatory reference to my colour, gender, or social status. Why do others take such dramatic umbrage, rather than dismiss such childish ignorance?
JimF. I’ve been to many places. Argentina, Africa, USA, even the Isle of Wight. but my point is I don’t get offended by words. Deeds are quite another matter.
The majority of people respond to abusive remarks regarding their race in a way similar to Lankeela's friend above and I applaud that calm approach in the face of such ignorance.
