It would have been better for the country for this to have been an immediate sacking rather than a forced resignation. I'm glad he has gone. Finally, some accountability.
I take no pleasure in it either. This whooping and celebrating makes me feel quite sick - literally. Awful.
Naomi, if it literally makes you sick, you should probably go and see your gp. No-one has that delicate a constitution.
Relief, not celebration. We're still amidst a pandemic, and a change of leadership during that is hardly desirable. On the other hand, that's Hancock's stupid fault, and his alone.
Right decision from H. Dreadful leadership from BJ .
ah, everyone's entitled to a little weep when their heroes reveal feet of clay.
It was inevitable. Johnson should follow him out
I don’t see any glee.
Disbelief possibly :-)
Johnson won't -- he's too popular, still, for one thing, even if that may have been slipping slightly.

Im neither whooping or hollering he’s gone but I’m quietly happy he has , he’s a 21 carat hypocrite!!!
His letter is quite damning for the PM: more or less shaming him for not sacking him
:-)

Interesting
Naomi, I doubt if anyone feels much pleasure in realising that the Health Minister is so insensitive and incontinent that he can't behave like a real Minister. I know he's been under stress for a long time and that he realises that Johnson doesn't give a t**s about his future, but if you want to be a minister then you have to be tough enough to cope with life at the top.
He’s not my hero, Jno, but there’s lot of fallout and a lot of hurt coming from this for a lot of people. Nothing to be celebrated in my opinion - but others seem to relish other people’s misery - so enjoy it if you must.

I don’t know why you imagine anyone is celebrating. It’s a very bad time to have to replace a health Secretary, but it’s entirely his own fault
There may well be more fallout, but we can't avoid negative consequences for our actions forever, and neither can Hancock.
and who caused that hurt, naomi? I'm pleased to see a man who thought it right for Ferguson to lose his job is now paying the same penalty for the same offence, which seems like karma to me. The domestic and romantic entanglements they can sort out for themselves.

His obvious contempt for the public and Prof. Ferguson makes it clear that he can't be trusted and should never again hold a position with any degree of power.
I’m imagining nothing, ichkeria. There are at least two people here who are enjoying it. They said so.
Amazing that Naomi can think that wanting the right thing to be done and satisfied that it finally has is, in her view, relishing, celebrating and enjoying.
