Goodbye And Good Riddance Hancock
Answers
It would have been better for the country for this to have been an immediate sacking rather than a forced resignation. I'm glad he has gone. Not because of the affair but because of the sheer hypocrisy of the man. His obvious contempt for the public and Prof. Ferguson makes it clear that he can't be trusted and should never again hold a position with any degree of...

As far as the political fallout is concerned, this makes the PM look guilty of either weakness and inability to do the right thing, or bullish delight in cocking a snook at society by supporting his Health Secretary, and neither of those are a good image for him moving forward.
He should have sacked Hancock instantly, and distanced himself even faster.
By trying to support Hancock, the PM appears to tacitly condone his appalling behaviour and is 'regarding the matter as closed' is either stunningly naive, or again willfully arrogant, and again neither are a good look.
The fact is, Hancock is just as gone whether he resigns or is sacked, the only difference is, what happens to those who are still around, with people asking tall questions about seriously misplaced support.

Absolutely it takes two. But this (in my view) is not about any affair. It is about him standing on that podium almost every night for weeks telling us we must wash our hands, we must wear masks, we must keep a distance of 2 m, we mustn't mix with family...
As a family we have studiously obeyed the rules and not spent time together. We have worn masks, stayed 2m apart and stuck with the hands, face, space thing. It's infuriating that we and many others have observed the guidance but the person telling us we ought to do this ignores it. If his breach had been holding a social event at his home I'd be of the same view. The fact that he "supported" a police investigation when Robinson (I might be wrong on his name) did similar is extremely duplicitous.
I couldn't give a monkeys about any affair, I am v cross that I was advised not to hug my grandmother by a person who sticks his tongue down his aide's throat.

We know that people can and do, Sqad.
But when that person is in a position to cause the backlash from the public, when caught, that this man was in he should respect his position and responsibility or, if his loins are unable, go far away before it comes to light and causes the damage that this may.
