The problem with any movement which tries to create a saner more equitable society is that it gets hi-jacked by extremists, misfits, fruitcakes, and morons. And that gets the movement an unjustified bad name.

It is not seen as derogatory.
Inverdale and Becker are employed by the BBC for their Tennis expertise. And they are very good at it. Tennis fans want to hear their opinions on the tennis, not the attractiveness of the players girlfriends. If they thought the girl was pretty they should have commented to each other in the pub later, where old men leering over young women is the norm, not broadcast it to millions of viewers.
