Another Lockdown?

Do we think Boris would dare to announce another lockdown, possibly in a couple of weeks, the way things are going ? Or will he allow more and more Covid cases to spread all over England? Just asking….

I'm pretty certain there will be another lockdown, it always seems to be in the news, but probably not till autumn ! I fear there will be MASS protests if this were to happen though.

That’s the problem, people are getting fed up with it all now, but it just won’t go away will it … Boris is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t … probably thought he would have an easy ride as PM with lots of freebies, he didn’t predict this !!

These things are very difficult to predict. On the present trajectory, I shouldn't be too surprised if the Government's hand were forced in around late August/September, but we'll have to see.

If there is a clear case for another lockdown, then it feels difficult to see how any decision the Government makes could make it look good. Either having one when we were promised an effective end to this cycle, or not having one when it's clearly necessary to prevent thousands of excess deaths, would be likely politically disastrous.

The virus is becoming like the flu - most people have had the flu and survived, a good number have died and continue to do so because it exacerbates other conditions they have.

We don't lock down for flu - we vaccinate & take what comes ...

Are you predicting that there will be thousands of excess deaths in the near future, before the end of August or early September say? Do you have any data that is supporting this prediction, or is it your scientific hypothesis on the back of a fag packet attempt?
