The airline clearly explained why Kahn and his mate were booted off the the plane. The rules may be silly, illogical, senseless etc but they are the rules and no one is better at applying senseless pointless rules than our American friends. Amir me old china just bear it so you can travel.

SP, //American Airlines has said Khan and his colleague were “deplaned” because they repeatedly refused to comply with crew member requests to stow luggage, place phones in airplane mode and adhere to face mask requirements.// I don't call 'repeatedly' refusing to comply with the crew's requests a 'minor infraction'. It might be convenient to claim that...

Furthermore - if you go back and re-read my statements from page one of this thread - pretty much consistent really.
This from the Guardian link posted earlier ….

//Khan, who was born and raised in Bolton by his Pakistani parents, said he and his colleague were “picked on” because they were “two Asian boys” and it was a week after the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US.//

…. but if you think he didn't say that there's no problem. He repeatedly failed to comply with the crew's requests and was consequently ejected - and quite right too.

You know this how?
I'm not going around the houses with you again, sp. It's all been said.
I think it's sensible to accept that some people absolutely play the race card, but there are situation where people are genuinely victimised.

Best to keep an open mind - unless either side can be backed up, it's not helpful to believe one side over the over.

Go on...please!

You've subscribed to the thread, so you may as well

;-)
So how can you be sure that the crew are telling the truth?
SP, Why do you keep telling people who disagree with you 'It's not helpful'? Who are they supposed to be helping?

I believe the crew - but you know that.
I don't believe the crew of an international airline that flies people of all colours and creeds every day of the year are racist. They would not compromise the company's integrity - or their jobs. It's a ridiculous notion.

I say 'it's not helpful' to keep the conversation polite.

You say that you don't believe the crew could be racist because they deal with people of all races.

But these are merely people and people have faults. I'm not saying that they DEFINITELY picked on Khan because of his race but it's possible that that the one TCS staff member who made the decision was. It wouldn't be the entire cabin crew who took the decision.

It's awesome that you have such faith in people (the crew) - perhaps I'm a little jaded!
Anyway - nice to hear your opinion on this one. Have a good day!
SP, why say it when nothing impolite has been said then? Very strange.

'Awesome' I think is a little over the top, but I do have a certain amount of confidence in the integrity of the crews of reputable international airlines.
That’s what I mean naomi24. Way too many threads on this site descend into slanging matches and personal digs, so I try to stick to passive verbs.

But I get your point…I’ll drop ‘helpful’ and instead be more specific when I don’t agree with someone’s point.

Have a good rest-of-your-day!
