looks like the EUSSR hissy fit has cost their best payer billions as predicted when project fear was being bandied about. Play hard ball with the UK and there is only one outcome.

Look, German car sales are down...let's Herald that as a Triumph.

Having had German cars in the past I've finally realised that Far Eastern makes are generally better specced, more reliable & cheaper. VW/Audi - no thanks.
I used to have a far Eastern car and it was very good but eventually the cost of repairs far outweighed the value of the car and so it had to go. Now have German car. It is only 8/9 years old (that's new for me) and it seems to be going well at the moment so will stick with it.
A new one? They don't make this particular one any more so I don't know what will be next.
// UK exports and imports fell at the fastest level since records began as the post-Brexit trade agreement with the EU threw up huge disruptions to trade, new data shows.
New figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows that exports of goods from the UK fell by 19.3% in January, driven by a 40.7% reduction in exports to the EU.

Reacting to the export figures, British Chambers of Commerce head of economics Suren Thiru said: “The significant slump in UK exports of goods to the EU, particularly compared to non-EU trade, provides an ominous indication of the damage being done to post-Brexit trade with the EU by the current border disruption. //

//who can afford a fresh-out-the-factory, brand spanking new motor right now?//

My daughter got herself a new top of the range Kuga recently. So there is one.

Part of the problem at the minute is the shortage of chips. Nothing to do with Brexit although I'm sure some will say it is.
My BMW is fine Dave. Parts are a bit dearer but they seem to last longer. Got nearly 26K out the rear tyres(rear wheel drive), just changed them for under £400 a pair.

"I agree Mozz it's not all to do with Brexit and the article I linked to also says that."
funny how Brexit is supposedly the cause of all UK problems though isn't it!
The figures for car sales are not reliable due to CV19. Car usage and sales plummeted and for over a year the dealerships were deserted - all over Europe and for all makes...but its an ill wind...due to the home shopping boom the sale of vans is way up.
The huge drop in fuel sales resulted in tanker drivers being furloughed, laid off, taking early retirement and so on and many decided not to return. Neither of these events have much to do with Brexit.
