Well it should do, as it’s the same albeit imperfect yardstick that’s been used for months.
So when it goes up ( and it’s high even for a Tuesday) that means there probably are more deaths from the virus.
So it’s good to be aware of that.
If you want to have a pop at the government go ahead. On the other hand if you want to say it doesn’t matter, equally go ahead.
The trouble is we’re all in our camps now: one way or another

I did ask, Ich... what's the percentage. We now have 223 deaths in a day, not from covid, but within 28 days of a positive test, whatever the cause and I've given just one example.
Does anyone know the average of how many deaths per day, there "usually" are?
I just don't get why covid is the "only" unacceptable death now. While deliberate kidney failure, stopping chemo and killing cancer patients, knowingly.... is just an acceptable side-effect?

The number of cases might be relevant.
But rather than just look at one set of figures it’s more helpful to look at trends
Same with the deaths: it’s an imperfect and unscientific method evidently but it’s the SAME method over time so all things being equal it does tell us something.
What it doesn’t do is argue the toss about whose fault it is: that’s our job :-)

I'm not convinced, gromit. Surely, the more vaccinated people that get it, the more likely of a mutation?
I understand what you're saying, ich- but all things "aren't" equal. We are getting to a point, where sadly, we will lose lots to flu. They shouldn't all come under covid, because of a previous test. It helps nobody by being dishonest.
