I don't think the father has been sentenced to life, with a minimum sentence; so he could be released after he has served half the sentence.

be careful, it's a difficult read. it does confirm Hughes has received a determinate sentence, of which he will serve 2/3 before release on licence.

I openly wept last night when I watched the news. Words fail me over these two.
An acquaintance of mine who's been to prison says that the screws and inmates work together in getting them summary justice. They'll have many years of hell.

that sounds a lot, SharonA. A GP has about 2000 patients (on average), but they're not sick all the time and most will seldom be sick at all. A social worker's cases will always be problems. And if anything goes wrong it's always their fault, because they've got to act as though they've got unlimited resources, even though they haven't.

That's not a job I'd want.
