Let us wait and see what super spreader events we get over New Year’s Eve and the resultant bed crisis before getting ahead of ourselves
What new year plans in England anyway ?
Trafalgar Square is cancelled and the pubs will be restricted anyway
No ?

I take it you've not seen all the protests in other European countries, sqad?
Lol
Meaning what ?
That a few of the great unwashed in those countries do not like having their party plans curtailed ?
Figures over bookings and hospitality over the last week tell you what you need to know
The general public are proceeding with caution
As they ought to for a week or two

It has looked, for some time now, likely that we are all going to become "infected" with this virus. All lockdown and isolation measures Worldwide have not stopped the spread and developement of the virus. However the vaccine programme has now made it likely that you will easily survive and in some cases not show more than common cold symptoms if you have had the offered vaccines. There are now treatments coming on stream that can be taken at home for anyone, including the anti vaxers, should they show signs and test positive. Time to remove the shieldwall that was erected to protect the people who were supposed to protect, and serve, us.
