How Can We Control The Channel?
116 Answers
a motley crew of 5th columnists, assorted lefties and remoaners etc are all moaning that we have failed to stop over 28,000 illegals in 2021. So over you you ladies and gentleman what measures should we have been employing?

I think it needs a multi pronged approach. Firstly the 'plan' shown by TTT would be one part (if the French assist) but then we should back it up with the following: 1) Amend the HR laws to protect the British and remove rigths for illegals. Cheap and easy to do with an 80 seat majority. There will be whining from the left but hey-ho. 2) Remove any right to any cash,...

- Increase our fleet of patrol vessels from 5 to 50.
- Remove more who enter illegally.
- illegal immigrant cost the country many £millions. Increase the budget of the Borders Force/Agency by the same amount, paid for by the savings.
- Do the job ourselves, not pay another country £millions to do an half-arsed job.

gromit: - "Increase our fleet of patrol vessels from 5 to 50." - and what will they be allowed to do? force the boats back to France? What if they don't want to go?
"- Remove more who enter illegally." - so we ignore their rights etc, I agree but many of your TROBites won't

The cheapest and only 100% guaranteed solution is outlined at 18:14, why do we not do it?

We put them into hotels and feed them and give them money. Before Christmas The Grand Hotel at Scarborough was cordoned off. The illegal immigrant occupants were running riot - they trashed the place completely and were spilling out on the streets. Now, it is no longer the best hotel around (definitely) but it is a room, warmth, safety, washing facilities and food. They don't think it is good enough.
Meantime, an organisation for the homeless/struggling of which I have some knowledge and try to help, was trying to provide 500 (yes 500) to feed local people through Christmas. In 2019 the number was 205. They are also still picking people off the street and beach and finding emergency accommodation for them. These people are very grateful.
I know where my sympathies and efforts lie. Something is very, very wrong here.

Housing and payments for asylum seekers (including the channel crossers) may be set to cost £850 million per year.

Match the £850 million and employ many more boats and guards to keep them out in the first place.

If people manage to cross the Channel and end up on our shores without prior permission, what do you think we should do with them?
We could put them on trains or boats back to wherever they came from.
We could throw them back into the waters of the Channel.
We could let them stay but without any means of earning money or having a building to live in.
We could kill them.
We could intern them in camps.
We could investigate their refugee status.
We do need to think hard about what should be done. It's no good simply tut-tutting and doing nothing.

// why do you look for more expensive solutions //
Stop 28,401 getting here in the first place and we will SAVE money, not be more expensive.
The present system isn’t just failing, it is failing very badly.
299 illegal crossers in 2018, rising to 28,401, three years later.
How can you possibly defend that appalling record?
