//The ones I saw on telly seemed to be seeking deportation of muslims…//
I can only imagine you were tuning in to a strange programme. I don’t recall anybody seeking the deportation of Muslims, or indeed of anybody else for that matter.
//Funny, now that nothing good has happened, that the Brexit fans here claim that they never expected anything good apart from sov.//
If you look at my posts during the period of purgatory from 2016 to 2020 you will find that I rarely claimed any benefits would accrue from Brexit. Maybe once or twice, when I suggested we would do better seeking trade with the wider world rather than with the protectionist racket that is the EU, but that’s about it. But something good has come of it – the UK is no longer bound by EU law (bar re disgraceful situation in Northern Ireland) and is no longer hostage to the whims of a bunch of unelected foreign bureaucrats.
//Nice to know that NJ doesn't give a toss about the impact on hard-working Brits, so long as he gets his life-long wish for sov.//
The financial impact on hard-working Brits (of whom I count myself as one) will be minimal. Far greater influences over their finances abound from other forces. Any other impacts, such as having to complete an online form before visiting a foreign country, they will have to learn to live with – in the same way as people in other normal (i.e. non-EU) countries do.
//…so anecdotally, at least one Brexiteer voted leave in order to rid the country of Johnny Foreigner.//
And your point is what, exactly? If a voter was foolish enough to believe that voting to leave the EU would rid the UK of Johnny Foreigner, then more fool him. He should not have listened to other people. That leaves aside the fact that he is entitled to want to see the country rid of foreigners if that is his persuasion. There should be no veto over his opinion, however unpalatable it may be to others.
