How long can, or should, we stand aside while people are being slaughtered? Know all the reasons why we don't want to risk escalation, but if Putin opened extermination camps would that, at least, mean that we would do something?

I think if we did need to we should. But we almost certainly don’t need to. Ukraine has a huge army of well trained, brave and dedicated men and women. Give them the tools and they will get on and do the job

Or maybe it was carried. I thought a two thirds majority of all members was needed
Carried according to my home page.
Putin said we are being unfriendly. What a tit he is.
It's two thirds of votes, not members.
Yes indeed. I hadn’t realised that at the time. It would never have passed otherwise.
Well done the abstainers :-)
Lots of mealy mouthed words from some “distinguished” representatives about “dialogue”

Yes indeed folks I was watching it (!)
Not sure what practical good it will do other than humiliate them
A Russian airstrike in E Ukraine has bit the railway line out of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
Cutting off possible train evacuation of potential human shields
Someone posted a picture of the missile that hit Kramatorsk railway station this morning killing at least 30, at least two children. On it were painted the words:

"Za detei" = "For the children"

I'm hoping that is fake ...
I'm beginning to wonder if NATO isn't something of a hindrance to ending this, does it not tie the hands of those (members) who would otherwise wish to help?
Well, not really because as we have seen individual countries are free to send material.
Like any large organisation there is a certain inertia built in, but also like any organisation, there is much more effectiveness when it does act.
But nobody can act! - some weapons yes, but even that is restricted. Poland wanted to contribute Mig fighters but can't
That was because the US vetoed it, not NATO

Mr Kuleba indicated yesterday that Ukraine would get what it wanted, but the time was critical. As he also pointed out, some NATO nations are keener on supplying weapons than others. But there is more chance of them cooperating if they are part of NATO.
Like I said at 16.38 we need to stop gobbing off and giving Putin information about weapons being sent. This won't be the first railway line to become a target, when you have the media showing pictures of tanks being transported by train. Putin is sitting there clapping his hands when this info is being given out.
Sandra - Russia will have spy planes & satellites that can see what's going on the ground in minute detail. We can't tell them much they can't already see.

And with the added information they can make a special effort to focus on the railway. Just supply the weapons and keep the mouth shut.
Well, that “za detei” is not fake
Damn savages - how much longer can stand by and watch this happen?
You can just make out the words in theses pictures. One is from the BBC website

We can't do anything because we are in NATO, that's what I'm saying above. If when the Warsaw Pact was dismantled NATO had been too, individual countries would now be able to help as they wish.
Like I said at 16.38 we need to stop gobbing off and giving Putin information about weapons being sent.

I theenk he knows anyway - post war - the information campaigns will make interesting reading

and people like Ich have enough savvy to add a gloss for us which is true most of the time
