Q: "what would you say to The PM and Kier Starmer right now...."
A: " Stop arguing over who drinks when and where and start getting on with the real problems of the day."
Enough said, the public are sick to death of trivial cobras gate!
I cannot work out if you are being obtuse for the sake of it Naomi.
I mentioned the work rules because they were set out by the government whom I work for!
I mention people dying because it was a response to people wanting to move on from this and some of the suggestions that people do not care about who had a drink with whom
Another ABer, one who disagreed with you about the rules in the workplace, works for the government too, red Helen. I’m not being obtuse. Simply trying to ascertain which rules were actually broken by the guilty - and by those who have done likewise but for some inexplicable reason have not been deemed guilty for that matter. Additionally it seems silly to me to bang in about not being allowed to mix with people outside your ‘bubble’ when work colleagues are necessarily within your ‘bubble’. Similarly it’s ridiculous to compare having a glass of wine with colleagues with being unable to see sick relatives. None of the complaints I’ve heard are rational. Not one.
Oh and 42000 office based HMRC staff were unable to sit with colleagues, have Christmas parties or drinks with colleagues to rules set in place by the same government who who quite happily broke the rules put in place by their advisors.
But again I don't suppose you are interested in facts.
I am interested in facts but it appears that the rules imposed on the department you work for differed from others and in their severity were completely irrational. The ABer who disagreed with you works in defence I think she said abs she was under no such restrictions. To be honest, RedHelen, your complaints sound more like sour grapes than anything else.
Time to move on i think. All big 3 in the UK broke the rules.Johnson and Starmer with their parties,Sturgeon with her flouting her own mask rules.Time to move on.
Unsureme. You got that wrong. I don’t think Mr Starmer should be castigated either - and he wasn’t even in his own office with his own day to day colleagues. I think the whole thing is an utter nonsense that’s been blown out of all proportion - and for a purpose.
I use the expression 'as a rule' to indicate that something is accepted behaviour, I did not intend it to be seen as a Rule, as in a government mandate, and I think you know that perfectly well.
