DH, //You clearly haven’t but ok. //

I really have - honest.
If they are caught doing this then the police should take action. This in my view is no less than criminal damage. Deflating tyres can damage the side wall/ structure.

//These are the Swampy type activists. They don’t own nor use cars//

Either they or someone they know who helps them must. A couple of weeks ago they committed criminal damage in both Cobham and Clacket Lane services on the M25 and the only way you can get to either of those is by motor vehicle.

Exactly, should be easy enough with a scooter, hence there’s so much crime committed by scooter riders in urban areas. But also, could you define the criminal damage? Wilfully attacking cars or letting down tyres?
I’m asking because as I’ve pointed out the glue people are prominent, in plain sight and even wear high viz vests.
The tyre-deflators in the link are portrayed as hoodie-adorned, carrying out their activities in the dark, covertly.
If they’re using cars whilst visiting many streets in the process of tampering with vehicles I’ll eat my hat, they couldn’t even park I’d imagine? Far easier on foot or a bike. Fleeing on foot or on a bike down a one way street or pavement is the obvious answer, multiple points of entry and egress.

Not really. You just have to look historically at the way crime street crime has been committed over the last few years in London, combine that with the pictures and information in the link and you come to a reasoned and logical modus operandi of how one might carry out such criminal behaviour in a conurbation, you don’t need the training of a criminal mastermind.
If someone breaks into your home aren't we allowed to protect ourselves against them by any means, if so, why can't people protect their vehicles from being destroyed in any way ? I don't mean killing the perpetrators of course, but a good slap around the face might be necessary !!
Case in point.
"why can't people protect their vehicles from being destroyed in any way ?"

Would you call deflating a tyre, destroying the car?
Question Author
12:07, Yes I agree with the method you describe. We had a spate of tyre slashing round here a few years ago and it was one guy on a bike riding round with a big spiked screwdriver caused hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of damage. Some speculated he'd been hired by kwik Fit! At least this lot just let the air out.
Deflated tyres are the cause of a fair few accidents, so yes.

Plus, as has been pointed out above the sidewall can get damaged with all that weight on it.

It’s obviously not destroying but as I pointed out earlier it could lead to reckless endangerment.
Whoever it is, anybody doing so to my car will suffer the consequences.
I’ve no problem with safe and reasoned protest but if you attempt to endanger me, I’ll do all in my power to stop you.
DonkeyHoaty, I have noted some of the terminology in your posts.Am I correct in thinking that you are or were in the force?
Would you not agree that preventing someone from deflating a tyre would have to be proportionate?

The force? As in the police? No, never have been.
OK. It was just a thought.

Nah, SB has probably just been charged so many times!

It appears I’m being accused again of being Stickybottle, by someone who use very similar terminology to ToraToraTora.
So far I’ve been accused of being TheDevil, Spath, Retrocop, Ken4155 and Stickybottle.
Could an Editor or moderator please delete my account? It’ll make things easier for all concerned I’m sure.
Many thanks.
DonkeyHoaty, no need to delete your account.Just ignore the posts accusing you of being some other person.
