what is wrong with the boris whoppa
i havent broken the law

oh lardy dah....
Gale - 148 is severely damaging to his reputation

No - the person who has done in his reputation ( the press, i can hear Naomi trill) is Boris himself

Gale: this is not an orchestrated campaign - I ( says Liar Gale) will go on saying what I believe

an amazing level of truth and soul searching by a Tory sheep
or his oven ready deal, which was anything but and now he seeks to unilaterally change the supposedly legally binding treaty covering post-Brexit arrangements in Northern Ireland.
The leader of the Conservative and Unionist party, doing so much for the Union ...
Peter Pedant
//wny isnt Naomi giving us all hell over this?//

Occupied elsewhere, too busy fighting off Dorries for Johnson’s affections.
so that's worse than May, Major and Thatcher achieved in Tory confidence votes. I think it's just horrid the way they rise up against their deities all the time.
Any chance of BA, Ich ;-)

It was me who said that there might be 140 MPs involved in the government who’d be unlikely to vote against him.
I thought about 120 would vote NO.
No real idea what’ll happen.
They’re celebrating in Kyiv now tho…

Not a chance. Everyone knows it’s ToraToraTora who decides those, regardless of who started the thread!
Obviously not, fatti.

Thanks, Ich ;-)
ich: "They’re celebrating in Kyiv now tho…" - why? Boris has done a lot of good for Ukraine surely. They were naming things after him the other week.
Question Author
They are celebrating because he won Tora.
You saw my previous posts?

It would be hard to overplay what a hero BJ is in Ukraine.
I bet they are amazed at how we are treating a PM with the biggest Tory majority since TGL over trivia. One who has stewarded us through nothing but crises since he was elected.
Question Author
Yes they are.
I mean, they don’t care about our internal politics - why would they - and not for them the comparisons with Theresa May’s 133 votes etc
That doesn’t of course mean our internal politics doesn’t matter.
Another Ukrainian hero, Kaja Kallas of Estonia is also in trouble albeit of different kind (no not THAT! ;-) ). She was in London yesterday
In 2018 after a confidence vote, JRM said “This is a very bad result for the Prime Minister, 117 of her back bench colleagues have voted against her, that is a third of the parliamentary party”.
She subsequently went on to lose several votes before realising it was in everyone’s interests to resign.
Fast forward to today and JRM said prior to the vote that a win even by 1 vote counts as a victory.
He’s obviously ignored the 148 today but Johnson had better get used to losing votes like May did, notwithstanding the 2 by elections and standards inquiry.
At what point will his party actually step in?
For most of the British public (and some Tory MPs), continually lying and breaking the ministerial code are not trivial matters (for a PM to be engaged in).
The men in grey suits are ruthless.
Boris needs to win the 2 by-elections and he won’t.
Then the Privileges committee report will be damning.
The summer recess might come to Johnson’s aid, but a leadership challenge in the Autumn is on the cards.
If he survives all that, they should bring water to the next Downing Street party, and he will magically make it into wine.
