Is The Bbc Becoming Just Too Precious?
Len Goodman's little anecdote about his granny, years ago, describing curry powder as 'foreign muck' has been met by the BBC with disapproval. They have issued an apology - to whom is unclear. Perhaps to people like me who like curry, but I'm not offended . I too think some food is foreign muck.

In answer to the question, the BBC have been Precious for a long time. They're still under the impression they are the best broadcasting station in the world and there is far too much of self congratulatory on air.

Ridiculous. The BBC just shows how out of touch with reality they are if someone can state a fact about their relatives and the BBC deliberately chooses to apologise for the truth. But it's today's woke society. If someone somewhere has an unreasonable objection to something that something gets closed down, aided by authorities, or, as in this case, apologised for. Getting to be like a tyranny; a little bit like China I reckon in the way normal folk are told they have to accept newspeak and what the powerful demand/claim. It's not the same country I recall growing up in. Some progress has been made, mainly though not exclusively scientific/technical advances, but a lot of decent social stuff is now denigrated or thrown out, regardless whether the majority agree.
