Lenny Henry, that stalwart champion of 'diversity', says he is “always surprised” by the lack of black and brown people at Glastonbury, as he called for better representation of ethnic minorities in all facets of British society.

Are they prevented from buying tickets - or is it that they just don't fancy living for several days in a tent in a muddy field?

It would be wrong to tar all whites with the same brush. Many of us aren't racist but there may be enough who are to make non whites reluctant to leave their comfort zone.

ann 13.36 He is not, but he built a career out of racist jokes, very much like many many of the comedians did back in the 70s. TV comedy was also full of black / Asian jokes.

Exactly my point. North West Wales is hardly a hotbed of ethnic minorities so the fact that they had a pub called the Black Boy is more remarkable, in contrast to your ‘I don’t know of a single pub in my area with that name’ remark.

used to go to glasto in the 1980 1990's packed it in as it became commercial sadly, as for black asian faces, i seen plenty, as its for all
or none.. perhaps lenny never thought erm well thye dont fancy the lineup or there skint, horses for courses..they have notting hill festival
it's not black or white, it universal... i remember seeing ben e king, black uhuru there and it was fantastic...

I used to love Lenny Henry and thought he was very funny, but now all he yacks on about is 'diversity' ! Of course he's racist, it doesn't always work one way ! I went to see him some years ago at a local venue (when I still liked him) and it was embarrassing, the place was over half empty and he was c.r.a.p. !!
