It's hot so what? gawd there are counties in the world that are like this every day, they don't close schools and have national emergency. Same when it snows, why are we so carp at weather? I never had a day off school for weather, ever and I was at school in 1976.

//…and it is almost certainly due to climate change.// No it’s not. It’s due to something called “weather.” An area of low pressure is forming over the Azores in the Atlantic, to the south-west of the British Isles. Air flows anti- clockwise round low-pressure systems so the wind will flow around the low-pressure system from north Africa and the Iberian...

OK so judges on AB have to keep away from
Stats - - covid
AND meterology - - its hot - "no its not, I am a judge so I know."
at least that is clear
Meanwhile - yes it is Hot, so hot that it has not been recorded before, and records go back to 1658. ( Much Woppledon or somewhere) - and we have their thermometers (*)
(*) but does a thermometer that is from 1658 record the same figure for the temperature, and does the accuracy 'drift' ? -
well the glass ( mainly alcohol) is more brittle over 400 y . but what about the co-efficient of expansion (a)? l= lo+ aT ( T in 'K l in cm) but a(1658) may still be different to a(2022)
this is hopelessly technical for a) a judge and b) AB innit)
Has anyone noticed that the guld stream has been around for 10 000y and the 40'C from yesterday? so saying one causes the other is a bit of a stretch
dear oh dear - make them retake Science CSE

//Conversation in the StGness house. “I’m going to post something pious”...Sunny Dave agree with me.
Sunny Dave - “I agree with StGness, I’ll just say it a little bit differently”//
weird? certainly not: I have conversations like this with my darg every day. neither party complains
fits quite well - - no no
is consistent with the statement " it is hot today, innit" and the thread generally
