I'm sure Kinnock would have won if he'd had the gumption to wait until after the contest before holding the victory celebration. The sheer smugness of it had the undecideds flocking to vote Tory in their droves. With Truss, most of the votes are already in.

Very conveniently, lots of people don't. But he saved this country from financial meltdown. Without the intervention he took, there would have been total collapse of the economy. He didn't do any of that on a whim. It was necessary action following the collapse of the sub-prime market in the USA, which reverberated world wide. That was nothing to do with Labour.The Tories would have done the same.

Agreed, but seeing Truss walking out and waving at the hustings last night, on the news, gave me the same "Ugh" feeling as the Kinnock Moment. Then hearing all the impossible promises coming out of her mouth, put a bit of sick into mine ...
