Paigntnian 19:16. "Tory MPs and Tory Party members are not racist. There may be a few but no more than in other organisation s. Labour has, at least in recent years, been antisemitic and provably so." I could riposte - "Labour MPs and Labour Party members are not racist. What a load of horlicks, sp1814. The tories gave us Priti Patel, Suella Braverman, Kemi Badenoch, Sajid Javid, Rishi Sunak, Kwasi Kwarteng- Chancellors, Home Secretaries, Business Secretaries, the highest posts in the land bar PM- cast your aspersions if you wish, but those are facts. Labour's white knight Sir Keir and his team can point their bleached fingers all they like.

Of course there’s an element in the Tory party that have a problem with Sunak because of his race.
Unless the Tory party is 100% full of voters who are completely colour blind.
And do you think that “lefties” (to use your reductive phrasing) bring up racism because they recognise and want to tackle bigotry rather than turning a blind eye?

//It's smashing that Suella Braverman and Kemi Badenoch represent the right wing of the party.//
I thought about that too, then realised that they weren’t any different to the self-serving sycophants who 10 weeks ago told Boris to resign, only to practically get the red carpet out for him at Gatwick yesterday.
Bilious.

SP, No doubt there are some racists in the party but it's the sheer hatred of the left "all tories are scum" types that override that. I can tell you that in all my meetings and associations over a life time of activism I've never heard race as a reason against anyone. Look at the Tory front bench of late, look at the labour one.
No of course it's not. Although there are many individuals and nations that would like to pretend it is.
The caller was clearly not skilled at discussion and allowed himself to be painted into a corner by the very badly worded arguments he, himself made. Presumably he is used to his mates at the pub not contradicting him as the presenter did.
The suspicion must be that the caller was racist, he certainly appeared to be so, but folk are entitled to their views, we don't have thought police; and the crux of what he seemed to be trying to say should have been given more attention rather than what foolishly and thoughtlessly he actually said; which seems to have been that he doesn't trust Rishi's loyalty due to his having a green card that he eventually gave up in order to remain credible, and his track record as Chancellor during the pandemic.
To be honest his view is certainly a minority one and possibly the reason he was chosen for the debate,in an effort to try to paint all non-Rishi supporters as racist.
Personally I think that discussion did no one, nor any group, any favours; it painted the Brits in a bad light, and caused more issues than had they chosen a more accomplished individual on to speak on why they weren't supporting Rishi.
