I could riposte - "Labour MPs and Labour Party members are not racist. There may be a few but no more than in other organisations. Tory has, at least in recent years, been Islamophobic and provably so."

What does anyone's race or ethnicity have to do with ability to perform any given job? As has already been pointed out, the top jobs in the country bar PM have been filled by Conservative MP's of many different ethnicities. Making race an issue is not only a desperate tactic by the left, but completely ignorant of the fact that the Conservatives have led the way when it comes to diversity- look at any Cabinet in recent years. Yes, Labour may wish to catch up one day with a female leader, or perhaps even a government capable of winning elections- who knows?!

I hear you but I reject your point. Not acknowledging something exists doesn’t defeat it.
If you think a neglible proportion of Tories share this man’s view, then say so - but your attitude is “Don’t even mention it”.
As Liz Truss might say, “That is a disgrace”.
