"if he had been still there there would not have been that unbelievably disastrous unthought out withdrawal from Afghanistan"

what makes you say that?

trump is an odious man who has done nothing but harm to american democracy... his insistence that the 2020 election is a lie designed to justify the insurrection by his followers and encourage them to do it again if given the chance... another term of Trump would be a terrible thing for America.

Donald Trump had an agreed, planned operation for an orderly withdrawal over an agreed period of time. He even told the leader of the Taliban, Hibatullah Akhundzada that if there was any deviation from that plan on the part of the Taliban he would see that his home village was bombed out of existence - the kind of talk he clearly understood.
i can’t find much information to corroborate that khandro… apparently trump agreed to a withdrawal of all US forces by may 1st 2021 in february 2020…

https://www.factcheck.org/2021/08/timeline-of-u-s-withdrawal-from-afghanistan/

after trump was voted legitimately and fairly out of office Biden had to postpone the arrangement to september… trump actually criticised him for not doing it sooner… biden brought it back to august 31st some time later.

i can’t see any evidence that the withdrawal would have been much different if trump were in charge… they seem largely to have enacted his plan…

i can’t find any information on this Hibatullah Akhundzada threat either
best i can see is this…

“ July 24 — At a rally in Phoenix, Trump again boasts, “I started the move out of Afghanistan,” adding “I think it was impossible for him [Biden] to stop it, but it was a much different deal.”

Trump says that when he was president, in a phone conversation with the leader of the Taliban, he warned that after U.S. troops leave if “you decide to do something terrible to our country … we are going to come back and we are going to hit you harder than any country has ever been hit.” Trump says he believes the two “had a real understanding” but that after Trump left office “now they’re going wild over there.””

so the source for the claim that trump told the taliban leaders what-for is… donald trump.

not a man renowned for his honesty…

Ooft….. not * spactic* please.
In 2 days time the Democrats will be wiped out.
In 2 years time when Trump resumes the Presidency, he'll be surrounded by Maga Republicans. No more Rinos, no more Neo-Cons, no Swamp.
Tick-Tock.
I see the Republicans are up to their sneaky tricks again.

You’re annoyed about the word spastic?

Ok, fair enough.

But…

Biden is a complete buffoon - he’s a complete cretin.

If Trump (who I despised) acted like Biden, there’d be AB warriors skipping to their keyboards clapping with unbridled joy, with spittle hitting their monitors, ready to gleefully pile in, but those same people (and we all know who they are) are strangely silent with Biden.

Funny that…

I think that was Lammy's Alma Mater, mmm.
Biden swerved the Vietnam draft five times (5!!!), so he’s clearly not up for a fight. One might even suggest he’s a coward.

It was ok for other Americans to fight, die and lose in Vietman, but Biden was too much of a bedwetting disgusting pussy coward.

He’s a disgrace.
i think dodging the draft was completely justifiable in the case of vietnam
Trump didn't serve either
nobody who hasn't actually seen combat themselves (and i haven't!) has any right to call draft dodgers cowards in my opinion... it is not something i would be willing to do and especially not for a nasty brutal and unjustified war like the american involvement in vietnam.

i was lucky enough to be taught by an ex serviceman in school who spoke about his experience quite often.... although he was proud of his service he always said he wouldn't wish the experience of war on anyone and that always stuck with me.

if my generation had been conscripted for iraq (for example) i would have burned my letter before going to a war like that!!
I thought Biden had asthma and that was the reason he failed his medicals.
All very noble untitled, and I wouldn’t want to either, but we didn’t have to.

Biden did, and swerved it, five times.

It speaks of his character.
Well ,as I posted ^^^Biden had asthma. How could he hide that from the medics.?
even if he did swerve it he was quite right to. young men should not have been drafted for that hideous war.
barring a legit national emergency i would encourage everybody to swerve conscription... and even in cases of emergency i find it difficult to condemn people who flee.
