They now decided to have a bank holiday in May so we can all celebrate Charlie boy having a crown stuffed with jewels placed on his head, and then while he is whisked back to one of the many palaces that we provide for him and the rest of his sponging family of no hopers, we are allowed to stand there waving dopey little flags at him while he gives us a condescending grin and a wave from the back of a Bentley that we bought for him, along with all the range rovers etc in case he fancies a change. Meanwhile people are struggling to eat and keep warm, food bank's, real genuine poverty that i never thought I would live to see, absolutely heartbreaking, I could go on but surely I am not alone in being disgusted by the irony of all this and it must be time now to relegate the whole lot of them to history book's and not throw another penny towards this horrendous family.

Barney, send me your bank details and I will transfer the amount you pay to support the Royal Family for the next 10 years. I really will.
I hope the £12.90 makes a big difference to your household budget.

People are getting help, barney.
# a crown stuffed with jewels# sounds like a sandwich :0)))
The total cost of the Coronation 10 times over would not help the UK get out of the terrible mess its in.

What about millions of people's £12,90, now that would make a difference..
Collectively like it or not there will be celebrating for the coronation of Charles 3rd. Monetary considerations aside. This country needs a boost of confidence and though temporary this will lift many spirits. So enjoying this occasion makes sense, be happy.
It won't lift my Spirits but I can choose to ignore the day and leave others to it.

While I got people's attention, ( for better or worse) does anyone else miss nailit on here, I used to enjoy some of his posts.
Welfare spending in this country accounts not for millions - but for many billions. To say no one is being helped is simply ridiculous.
Nailit and I go back a very long way. I would like to see him posting again.
I agree with you 100%.
Tony Blair would make a great president in a new dispensation.

Our local centre's doing classes on cap doffing and forelock tugging for anyone interested.
Oh heck Barney, you have picked the wrong site to moan about the royal ( totally dysfunctional family) on . Lol

What ? No curtseying and walking backwards?
Bet when you're invited to the Palace, for services to the poor, perhaps, you'll be tugging that forelock with the best of them, Barney.
All Bank Transfers and Cheques to be made out to Charles at
...The Royal Bank of Windsor. Many thanks .
No need for them, Meaghan, the wimmin will be too busy washing, cleaning, ironing and cooking for their menfolk
There is only one king for me - Elvis
The Royal Family can be likened to a stud farm. The late Queen was allowed to marry for love because it was never anticipated that she would get the top job.

Charles was not allowed that privilege – they needed heirs & they needed them pronto – so Diana was brought in as a naive, unsuspecting brood mare when Charles really preferred the old nag in the next stall.

Having stood by Queen & country and done his duty Charles & Diana were then free to go their separate ways with very unfortunate consequences for Diana.

Maybe things are somewhat better now & I admire Harry & Meghan for having the courage to break with tradition. I don’t think they could have lived happily with the constraints of being part of “the firm” & always playing second fiddle to William & Kate, so good luck to them. With their inside knowledge I have no problem with them telling their story as they see it.

I think the reverence for & deference to the Queen as she & Phillip aged over the last 2 or 3 decades has held back a much needed reformation & modernisation of the Monarchy. I hope Charles can grasp the nettle but maybe he has become too immersed in and immured with the prevailing culture to try to change it. And indeed why should he – he’s quite elderly, so why not just live out his days in the regal splendour to which he’s become so accustomed.

I hope he keeps out of politics but the fact that the monarch gets a daily “Red Box” and has a weekly audience with the PM does not bode well. No other unelected individual is accorded those privileges.
