They now decided to have a bank holiday in May so we can all celebrate Charlie boy having a crown stuffed with jewels placed on his head, and then while he is whisked back to one of the many palaces that we provide for him and the rest of his sponging family of no hopers, we are allowed to stand there waving dopey little flags at him while he gives us a condescending grin and a wave from the back of a Bentley that we bought for him, along with all the range rovers etc in case he fancies a change. Meanwhile people are struggling to eat and keep warm, food bank's, real genuine poverty that i never thought I would live to see, absolutely heartbreaking, I could go on but surely I am not alone in being disgusted by the irony of all this and it must be time now to relegate the whole lot of them to history book's and not throw another penny towards this horrendous family.

Probably not.
Best write to the palace then:0)
Personally I’m delighted and proud of having a King
‘God Save the King’

Good.
I will love it! Flags and bunting flying, street parties and whatever jollies people organise, I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Cheer up. No one does tradition like us!

Enjoy, and stuff the people who can't feed their kid's or get a bit of heat, pay the rent/ mortgage.
Let them eat cake!
It’s odd but it’s posts like that which makes a pretty lukewarm royalist like me want to start waving a flag ;-)
And you think by not having a Coronation, this will help?
The RF are going nowhere soon, maybe you rather have a Trump in charge? or something like the Iranian Ebrahim Raisi, now he’s a nice benevolent fella :0)

Now there's a leap, either keep the royal family or we have the Iranian, keep it sensible at least please,
I’ll take our RF thanks, my point is Would you rather have a republic ? If so, be careful what you wish for
I suppose a head of state were it not a monarch would be along the lines of eg Ireland’s, Italy’s or Germany’s.
ie not a US or French style one.
However that doesn’t detract from the rather idiotic claims in the OP

We have a elected government deciding what's good for us now, not the royal family, they serve absolutely no useful purpose let's get rid, and I got no worries about wishing for that.
//We have a elected government deciding what's good for us now,//

That made me laugh.
barney, how will me, sitting with a face like a smacked bum and refusing to buy a packet of sausage rolls or make a jelly for the children on the day of the coronation, help people who are struggling to pay their mortgages?

The executive government legislative parliament are one thing.
The head of the state is something different. Ours is not elected but is also ceremonial.
I think events like this boost the mood of the population. Most people were struggling after WW11 but it didn't stop them having street parties and celebrating.
God save the King! The extra BH gives me another date for a dog show I've been trying to organise.

It won't, but how can having a bank holiday and coronation etc with the huge cost's involved be justified when apparently the country is to poor to find the money to help people in real, not made up desperate need.
